KKU Art and Culture Center Preserves Isan Tradition with “Boon Khao Jee Valentine 2026” Celebration
On February 13, 2026, Khon Kaen University, through the Division of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, the Art and Culture Center, and its cultural networks, organized the “Boon Khao Jee Valentine 2026” festival at the western side of Si Than Lake, Khon Kaen University. The event attracted a large number of students, staff, and members of the public, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Niyom Wongphongkham, Vice President for Art, Culture and Creative Economy, who emphasized the importance of preserving and revitalizing the Boon Khao Jee tradition in ways that align with contemporary society. The event also aimed to provide opportunities for younger generations to learn about the roots of Isan culture while celebrating the spirit of Valentine’s Day.
The event featured a wide range of activities, including student music performances, an outdoor movie screening, a Khon classical masked dance performance, Baslop dance performances, the “Fancy Khao Jee” contest, and one of the highlight activities, the Miss Valentine KKU 2026 competition, which drew significant interest from participants and attendees.
Throughout the evening, the atmosphere around Si Than Lake was filled with smiles, warmth, and the creative energy of the younger generation. The event concluded with an impressive mini-concert by Prathom Order Show and the Boon Khao Jee Valentine 2026 countdown activity.

- First Runner-up: Cha Pun Team – Prize money of 2,000 Baht
- Second Runner-up: Sang Tamnan Team – Prize money of 1,500 Baht
- Creativity Award: Mae Ork Kham Tham Sahai Team
KKU Valentines 2026 Competition
